Kazakh, Abay and Sufi

Abstract

Kazakh people did not see the difference between Sufism and Islam. The mentality of  Kazakh perceived Sufism, which spread in the Kazakh land is connected with the name of the  Ahmed Yasawi as the highest spiritual Islam. Therefore Hikmet Yasawi and poems Kazakh poet Abay formed in the genre of philosophical lyrics. This distinguishes the Kazakh Sufi poetry from the Arab-Persian poetry, which took the form of love poetry.
