Abstract

This article examines the historical, social and cultural factors that influenced the formation of the work of the great Kazakh poet and educator Abai Qunanbaiuly, and the famous Egyptian poet Ahmad Shawqi, a neoclassical figure of Arabic literature. In addition, the era in which the two poets lived, their social environment, the stages of the formation of their literary work, and the peculiarities and similarities of their worldviews are identified. The purpose of the study is to identify the historical, cultural and social factors that influenced the formation of the personalities of Abai and Shawqi, and to conduct a comparative analysis of the work of the two poets in a socio-cultural context. To achieve this goal, the biographies, public activities, creative environments and literary heritage of the two poets were comprehensively considered. The main sources of the study were the poetic works of Abai and Shawqi and scientific research on the life and work of the two poets. During the study, thematic and content analysis, synthesis, historical-comparative, comparative-literary, interpretative and hermeneutic analysis methods were systematically used. The scientific significance of the study is demonstrated by the fact that for the first time the work of Kazakh and Arab poets is considered in a comparative historical and cultural context. The creative legacies of Abai Qunanbaiuly and Ahmad Shawqi constitute valuable sources reflecting the spiritual and cultural values of their respective historical periods. A comparative literary analysis of their works makes it possible to identify both shared and distinctive features in their views on human nature, society, and the world.
