This article examines the role of digital educational content in ensuring the sustainable development of overseas Korean Studies, with particular emphasis on South Korea’s experience and future directions. As global interest in Korean language, history, culture, and society continues to expand, the internationalization of Korean Studies increasingly depends on digital platforms that can support flexible, scalable, and inclusive learning. Drawing on the broader literature on digital learning design, accessibility, and equity, the article argues that effective digital content must do more than digitize existing materials: it should enable meaningful interaction, learner engagement, and adaptive learning pathways while reducing barriers related to location, proficiency, and institutional resources. The study reviews South Korea’s evolving initiatives in virtual education, online academic collaboration, and policy support for digital learning, showing how these efforts have helped extend Korean Studies beyond national borders. At the same time, it identifies persistent challenges, including uneven infrastructure, limited localization, and the need for stronger quality assurance and pedagogical alignment. The article concludes that the sustainable development of overseas Korean Studies requires an integrated strategy combining digital innovation, curriculum design, faculty development, and transnational partnership. In particular, future content should be multilingual, culturally responsive, accessible, and designed to support long-term academic collaboration and learner success across diverse international contexts.
