Abstract

Islam in Japan arose only in the Meiji period. The main reason was the established friendly relations between Japan and the Ottoman Empire. Although more than 200 years have passed, in Japan Islam   is considered something incomprehensible and unidentified. The article provides an overview of the  level and extent of the spread of the concept of halal in Japan, as well as the history of the emergence  of Islam in the Land of the Rising Sun during the Meiji period. The main tasks of the scientific work are the study of the distribution level of the halal concept in Japan, through the analysis of articles made by the research center of the company Mitsubishi Consulting. The purpose of this paper is to review the distribution and perception of the halal concept in Japan.
